As per standard policy, Kofax supports only two major versions of Kofax Capture/Ascent Capture at any one time; the current shipping version and the preceding major release.

Technical Support officially ended for Ascent Capture 6 on July 31, 2008. While Kofax Technical Support has continued to take calls on this version of the product, they will no longer do so beginning September 1, 2009.
